Overview

A finished roofline that looks after itself

The fascia is the board your guttering hangs off; the soffit is the panel tucked underneath, between the wall and the gutter. When they're timber and the paint's gone, they soak up water, rot from behind and take the guttering — and sometimes the roof edge — with them. Flaking paint, green staining, or a gutter that's started to sag are usually the first signs.

We replace tired timber fascias, soffits and bargeboards with maintenance-free uPVC across Colne, Burnley and the Ribble Valley — capped over or fully replaced depending on what we find. New boards mean no more repainting every few years, a proper fixing for your guttering, and ventilation kept where the roof needs it.

What's included

Exactly what you get on the day

  • Honest assessment first

We check whether the boards can be capped over or need fully replacing — we won't cap over rot just to make a quick job of it.

  • Rotten timber removed

Old, soft or rotten boards stripped off, and any damaged roof-edge timber flagged before we cover it up.

  • Maintenance-free uPVC boards

New fascias, soffits and bargeboards in your choice of colour — no more scraping and repainting.

  • Roof ventilation kept clear

Soffit vents fitted or retained so the roof space keeps breathing and stays free of condensation.

  • New guttering fitted with it

It's the ideal time to renew the guttering while the boards are off — fitted to the fresh fascia in one go.

  • Clean, capped finish

Joints trimmed and capped neatly, offcuts and old timber taken away, everything left tidy.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Can't see what you need? Give us a ring on 07486 534895 — happy to talk it through, no obligation.

What's the difference between capping over and full replacement?

Capping (or 'over-cladding') means fitting a uPVC cover over sound existing timber — cheaper and quicker, but only right if the wood underneath is solid. If the timber's rotten, capping just hides the problem. We'll tell you honestly which your boards need.

Will new uPVC fascias stop my gutters sagging?

Usually, yes — if the sag was caused by the boards behind giving way. A gutter needs something solid to fix to, and rotten timber won't hold a bracket. New boards give it a firm fixing again, which is why we normally renew the guttering at the same time.

Do you fit soffit vents?

Yes. Your roof space needs airflow to avoid condensation and damp, so we fit or keep soffit ventilation as part of the job. On older properties that were never ventilated properly, this alone can make a real difference.

What colours can I have?

White is the most common, but we also fit black, anthracite grey, rosewood, golden oak and cream, with woodgrain finishes available. We'll match it to your windows and guttering so the whole roofline ties together.

How long will uPVC fascias last?

Decades, with effectively no maintenance beyond the occasional wipe-down. That's the point of switching from timber — no rot, no repainting, and a firm fixing for your guttering for the long term.
